Removal of Calcium Buildup
Wearing rubber gloves are recommended in order to ensure the protection of your skin from the chemicals and irritants that many calcium removers contain.
Before you start the cleaning process ensure that they are dirt free. The selected gloves should be large enough to cover of your forearm to protect you in case if the cleaner splashes. If you are using vinegar then this step could be skipped but in case of calcium remover it is compulsory.
Pour the dilute calcium remover in the water and mix it with water in a bowl or old plastic container could also be used. 1 to 2 tablespoons of every individual ingredient would be enough.

If calcium buildup is not available in enough amounts then undiluted white vinegar could also be used as alternative of dilute calcium remover and water.
This may take a bit longer time for about 24 hours but it’s worth it and safe for most faucet finishes.
If you are having faucet made of iron or nickel then ignores the vinegar or calcium remover as these cleaners could lead to the removal of the finish along with the gunk you’re cleaning.
An old toothbrush or magic eraser should be used for the Scrubbing. Move it in back-and-forth motion gently. You can rinse the toothbrush if it gets too gunky. Repeat it until the buildup is removed completely.
Now with a microfiber cloth dry the faucet and in circular or back-and-forth direction move in a gentle manner. Continue the process until it gets dry completely.

With a clean dish towel dry the faucet. A wet surface could result in diluting the vinegar that could lead to incomplete cleaning. Now move it over the full base of the faucet.
With undiluted white vinegar fill a small bowl and soak an old cloth piece until it gets saturated.

Focus on the affected areas when moving cloth and cover these areas completely. Ensure that it is having a complete contact with the surface. At least for an hour leave the cloth at the place.
Now the faucet has to be scrubbed through the textured side of the sponge. Do it in a back-and-forth motion but be gentle with it as it can scratch the finish during the process it should be seen that deposits start to come off.
The process should be repeated for stubborn buildups but make sure to Cover only the areas where the calcium is left.
